Rocla goes the extra mile to supply

Images

When Ladex Constructions won the contract to build a new bridge in the isolated foresting community of Humula, New South Wales, they needed a supplier that would go the extra mile (literally) and a product suitable for an environment prone to flooding.

Situated on a back road between Humula and Carabost, the bridge is mainly used for the harvesting of logs from the nearby Pine Forests and serving the local rural community. During the flood season the existing one lane structure was frequently under up to two metres of water.

Richard Pottie, Managing Director of Ladex Constructions, says the Rocla®  pre-cast concrete M-Lock® Bridge System more than satisfied requirements for the replacement bridge and, having worked with Rocla Sales Representative Adrian Emer for more than eight years, Ladex had a long-running assurance of Rocla’s ability to supply.

Due to a hard road surface, the new bridge was built using in-situ headstocks. Rocla 12 metre M-Lock® pre-cast concrete decking planks, with a 30 degree  skew, were then used to complete the structure. Following an initial weather delay, the planks were installed in early July 2013.
