Long term relationship built on reliability of supply

Trafalgar, a town in the West Gippsland region of Victoria, has seen plenty of growth in the last few years – particularly with the duplication of Princes Highway which has allowed easy access into the country areas from the growing edges of Melbourne.

With the attraction of being one hour from the snow at Mt Baw Baw and the coast areas of Inverloch, the town has doubled in size in recent years with several subdivisions being developed.

Strzelecki Views is one such development on which construction has been underway since September 2011. With a total of 177 lots on offer, the estate features wetlands and parks to compliment the development.

For Stage 2, which commenced  in January 2013, and includes the main entrance into the estate off the Princes Highway, Rocla supplied 1.5km of pipe from 1050 to 300 diameter rubber ring joint along  with 120 m of 1200 x 750 box culverts and lids, sewer manhole and sewer pump station components. An extended detention wetlands was also constructed which included installation of a precast 1050 diameter headwall at the inlet and a twin 750 diameter outlet pipeline to Loch Creek.

Long term Rocla customer, HCM Constructions knows the value of working with Rocla. “We have a very strong relationship with Rocla,” says Gary Couling, Project Manager for HCM Constructions. “We needed to be sure when we started on this project – whether it was the pump station or box culverts – that we would get components when we needed them. The service we got from Rocla typifies the relationship  we’ve had with them for many years – we get the product we need, when we need it.”

Rocla representative Robert Burns adds, “Reliability is critical for projects like this. By using the full range of Rocla®  precast sewer chambers/bases and pump station products, construction time was cut down for HCM Constructions, enabling quick installation in a very wet area of Gippsland.”
