Piping hot

With a remote location, extreme heat and a tight deadline to contend with, Rocla’s team supplying the 30 metre-long, 1.8 metre diameter Plastream® sewerage overflow systems at BHP Billiton’s Warrawandu Village mine camp had its work cut out.

Strict safety standards had to be observed in order for the installation to be accepted, and Rocla’s Technical Sales Representative for Plastream® products visited the site daily, staying at the existing camp with the welders and client to ensure the installation went off without a hitch.

This project-focussed approach resulted in a highly impressed client, who has since insisted on the use of Plastream® for a number of upcoming projects.

The Warrawandu Village camp is part of BHP Billiton’s expansion of the Jimblebar mining operation; once complete it will be home to around 3,000 mine employees.
