A project for ABI Group has seen Rocla® deliver some of its largest ever reinforced concrete box culverts (RCBC).
The Rocla® RCBC units were the perfect solution when ABI Group was building a tunnel, for sugar cane trains, on the ISIS Highway in Cordalba, just south of Bundaberg.
ABI Group was contracted to Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads and needed a large sized box culvert. Rocla was able to provide the size required with its RCBCs, which were competitively priced and could be delivered within the required lead time.
The Gailes Rocla branch in Brisbane supplied 20 Rocla® RCBC crown units – each measuring 4200mm x 4200mm. While these are some of the largest RCBC units Rocla® has ever produced; Rocla does have the ability to make even larger units.
The units were produced at Rocla’s factory at Gailes and had to meet Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads specification standards. The large units had to be delivered one per truck with police and wide load escorts from Gailes to Cordalba.
